Exciting New! Online CE Classes Coming Soon!
Due to the transition to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR) in the coming year. Massage therapist and massage therapy students need to be away that there will be changes to the way that online CE Classes are done. Currently, classes are not very well-regulated. Students can take a massage CE Class where they download a PDF or watch a video and take a test. The student may or may not spend the right amount of time in their online class.
Some of the changes coming with the to TDLR:
- All online CE Classes will be required to be the correct time.
- Downloading a PDF and taking a test will not be allowed any more.
- If a video is being played, you will be required to answer some attendance verification questions every so often.
With all these changes coming, the staff at TMA are working on getting our online CE Classes where they will already be compliant and ready for the move to TDLR. Over the years, we have been asked many times to offer CE classes to our graduates and other massage therapists in the area. We have listened to your requests and we are working on getting some courses ready for you.
Another downfall of many online courses is that they are limited to a a desktop or laptop to view the courses. We are working hard to ensure that all our online classes are compatible for all devices, so that you can use your cellphone, tablet, or PC.
Our first online course is going to be a 3 hour course about Sanitation. This course will include:
- Why sanitation is important
- How you can and should implement it in your massage facility
- History of sanitation
- Rules for sanitation in Texas Massage facilities
Furthermore, we are also working on some business and ethics classes. While we continue to work on these courses, the goal is to have the sanitation course live before Christmas.
These courses will not just be a boring slide with image. Each course will include animations, in addition to games to help keep you enjoying the course. When I take CE courses online, I do not like the ones that are boring and I know you don’t like them either, so our goal is to make them more interactive.

Additional CE Classes
Additionally, the instructors are working on bringing in some hands on classes for you as well. We will be offering a TMJ class soon because not only do you want online classes, you want to be able to take hands on classes as well. Keep an eye on our blog and Facebook page where we will let you know when the online class is live. We will also keep you up to date on our hands on classes.
